Masrat Zahra is an award-winning visual storyteller and co-founder of Mizzou Grad Shoots, where she brings her deep passion for photography and human stories to celebrate one of life’s biggest milestones — graduation. With a background in photojournalism and years of experience capturing powerful narratives in some of the world’s most complex regions, Masrat now channels her lens toward creating timeless, joyful memories for University of Missouri graduates.

Before founding Mizzou Grad Shoots, Masrat built an international reputation for her courageous work documenting conflict, displacement, and resilience — work that earned her prestigious honors like the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award and the Peter Mackler Award for Ethical and Courageous Journalism. Forced into exile from her home in Kashmir, she now lives in the United States, where she serves as a visiting scholar and instructor at the Missouri School of Journalism.

At Mizzou Grad Shoots, Masrat combines her artistic eye with a deep understanding of emotion and context. Whether it’s a solo Mizzou graduation photoshoot, a fun Mizzou grad shoot with friends, or a family session celebrating this achievement, Masrat approaches each session with care, creativity, and a commitment to storytelling.

Tajamul Mir is the co-founder and creative director behind Mizzou Grad Shoots, where he brings together his eye for detail, love for storytelling, and entrepreneurial drive to create unforgettable graduation photography experiences. With a background in forensic science and years of experience producing visual content through his company Memorelic Productions, Tajamul knows how to blend structure with creativity to deliver exceptional results.He leads the operational and creative side of Mizzou Grad Shoots — from coordinating client sessions and managing bookings to ensuring a seamless pre- and post-production process. His work is grounded in thoughtful composition, emotional depth, and a commitment to showcasing each graduate’s personality and pride.At Mizzou Grad Shoots, Tajamul’s goal is simple: to make every Mizzou graduation photoshoot a personalized, polished, and memorable experience for students and their families.
